Fulham have confirmed the signing of Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze from AC Milan on a season-long loan for the 2025/26 campaign, with an option to make the move permanent.

The 26-year-old winger will wear the number 19 shirt at Craven Cottage and reunite with his Super Eagles teammates Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey.

“It feels like home already”

Speaking to the Club’s TV (FFCtv), Chukwueze expressed his excitement:

“I’m so happy to be here. It’s an amazing club. It feels like home because I have my people around me. I feel at home already, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Fulham vice-chairman Tony Khan added:

“I’m thrilled to welcome Samuel Chukwueze to Fulham! He is an explosive athlete and tremendous talent, who has gained valuable playing experience in Europe with Milan and in international competition for Nigeria. He is joining us on a season-long loan with a permanent option, and we are very excited to have him at the Club! Come on Fulham!”

A winger with pedigree

A powerful, rapid player who excels in one-v-one situations, Chukwueze is a left-footed winger who primarily operates from the right but is comfortable on either flank.

After coming through the Diamond Football Academy in Nigeria, he moved to Villarreal in 2017, he made his senior debut in a Europa League clash with Spartak Moscow in October 2018 and scored his first senior goal a month later in the Copa del Rey.

During his time with the Yellow Submarine, Chukwueze became a key figure, registering 37 goals and 29 assists in 207 appearances.

He played a vital role in the club’s Europa League triumph in 2021 and their run to the Champions League semi-finals in 2022.

His performances earned him a €28m transfer to AC Milan in 2023, he gained Champions League experience with the Rossoneri, notably scoring the winning goal against Newcastle at St James’ Park, and also featured in the Coppa Italia final last season.

Over two years in Italy, he averaged a goal or assist almost every other game across 70 appearances.

Another Nigerian boost for Fulham

Since making his Nigeria debut in 2018 at just 19, Chukwueze has won 46 caps, scoring seven goals.

His arrival strengthens Fulham’s Nigerian contingent alongside Iwobi and Bassey and adds proven European pedigree to Marco Silva’s attacking options.
