Katsina State government approves motorcycles, vans, and tactical equipment to boost security and combat banditry and kidnapping across the state.
The Katsina State Government has taken a decisive step to strengthen security across the state by approving the procurement of 700 motorcycles and 20 Hilux vans.

This initiative forms part of a broader strategy to tackle the persistent challenges of banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities that have affected several communities.
The approvals were made during the 12th Regular Meeting of the State Executive Council, presided over by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda at the Government House in Katsina, highlighting the administration’s firm commitment to restoring law and order.
Speaking to journalists after the Council meeting, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasiru Mu’azu Danmusa, explained that the rugged and often inaccessible terrain in many parts of the state necessitated the use of motorcycles and off-road vehicles.

These vehicles are expected to enhance rapid deployment to vulnerable and remote areas, where conventional vehicles face significant challenges.
“Security remains the first, second, and third priority of this administration.
“Our resolve is to confront insecurity in all its forms and ensure that residents feel safe in every corner of Katsina State,” Dr. Danmusa affirmed.
Beyond vehicles, the Council also approved the acquisition of a wide range of tactical equipment designed to enhance operational efficiency.
These include Security Arms Machines, Tactical Carry Cases, Slings, specialized Tools, Clearing Kits, and detailed Operational Manuals.
The equipment is aimed at bolstering the capabilities of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps, which will work closely with the Department of State Services (DSS) and other conventional security agencies to create a robust and responsive security network across the state.
Furthermore, the Council ratified the purchase of eight Toyota Land Cruiser (Buffalo) armoured pick-up trucks.
These vehicles are intended to improve the mobility of security personnel and provide secure access to areas prone to bandit attacks.
Dr. Danmusa emphasized that these measures are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen community-based security programs while providing conventional security agencies with the tools necessary to respond to threats effectively.
Dr. Danmusa appealed to residents to support government security efforts through active cooperation, reporting suspicious activities, and offering prayers for the success of these initiatives.
He reassured the public of the administration’s unwavering commitment to restoring peace, protecting lives and property, and ensuring lasting security throughout Katsina State.
