Alejandro Garnacho has arrived at Chelsea’s Cobham training base ahead of his reported £40 million ($54m) move from Manchester United, manager Enzo Maresca confirmed on Friday.
The two Premier League rivals agreed a deal on Thursday, with Garnacho deemed surplus to requirements by United boss Ruben Amorim.
The 21-year-old winger is now undergoing his medical and finalising personal terms with the Blues.

“I know he is around here,” Maresca told reporters at the press conference when asked about Garnacho’s arrival. “I don’t know exactly where.”

“He’s a winger”
Quizzed on how the Argentine would fit into his team, Maresca was clear:
“He’s a winger. I see him as a winger.”
The Chelsea boss would not rule out further movement before Monday’s transfer deadline:
“You can expect anything, the transfer window is open, anything can happen in and out.”
Injuries piling up
Maresca also provided updates on team fitness ahead of Saturday’s west London derby with Fulham.
He confirmed Cole Palmer will miss the clash after a groin injury forced him off against West Ham last week, while Benoît Badiashile and Romeo Lavia remain sidelined.
“Cole we need to see day by day,” Maresca said. “Romeo and Benoît – I don’t think they will be back after the international break but they will be closer.”

On Lavia, he added:
“Two years ago, he didn’t play any games. Last year, he played some games. The target is to give him more games this season. I don’t know when he will be back.”
Chelsea sit fourth in the Premier League after a goalless draw with Crystal Palace and a resounding 5-1 win over West Ham.
