Newcastle United have reached an agreement with Stuttgart to sign striker Nick Woltemade, according to multiple reports from Germany.

The Magpies have endured a difficult summer in their search for a new striker, having failed in pursuits of Joao Pedro, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, while star forward Alexander Isak continues to push for a move to Liverpool.

Big-Money Deal Secured

Woltemade, who netted 12 Bundesliga goals in 2024/25, had attracted interest from Bayern Munich earlier this summer but Stuttgart’s asking price scuppered that move.

His stock rose even further after an impressive campaign at the UEFA Under-21 European Championship, where he was one of the standout players.

Newcastle have now struck a deal with Stuttgart worth €85m plus €5m in add-ons (£73.5m plus £4.3m), although some reports, including GIVEMESPORT’s Ben Jacobs, suggest the final package could be closer to €70m plus €5m.

The 23-year-old German international has already bid farewell to his Stuttgart teammates and is travelling to Tyneside for his medical.

Howe Lands His New No.9

Eddie Howe has long sought a central striker and now finally has his man. Woltemade will arrive as Newcastle’s new number nine, potentially paving the way for Isak’s long-anticipated exit.

The move comes shortly after Newcastle failed to land Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, despite bids of £50m and £55m being rejected.

Wolves stood firm, informing both Newcastle and the player that no sale would be sanctioned this summer.

With those frustrations behind them, Newcastle have moved quickly to secure Woltemade in what could prove a pivotal moment in their transfer window — and possibly the trigger for Isak’s departure.
