The Israeli ground operation in Gaza City has left the southern part of the Zeitoun neighborhood in ruins, with Gaza’s Civil Defence reporting over 1,500 homes demolished.

The devastating impact of the conflict is further underscored by the staggering number of casualties. According to reports, at least seven people have lost their lives in Israeli attacks across Gaza overnight and this morning.

Among the victims are a woman and her child in central Gaza’s Bureij refugee camp, as confirmed by medical sources to Ireport247.

In a stark revelation, the UN Security Council, with the exception of the United States, collectively endorsed the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification’s (IPC) declaration that the famine in Gaza is a “man-made crisis”.

This move was met with resistance from Israel and the US, which have come under scrutiny for their role in exacerbating the humanitarian crisis. The IPC’s findings highlight the severity of the situation, where preventable deaths are occurring due to lack of access to basic necessities like food and healthcare.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump convened a policy meeting focused on Israel’s war in Gaza and post-war plans for the Palestinian territory.

The meeting included input from notable figures such as former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and former Trump Middle East envoy Jared Kushner, as per a senior White House official.

This development comes amid reports of Israel’s intensified bombardment of Gaza City, forcing families to flee destroyed neighborhoods.

The humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, with alarming numbers of fatalities and injuries. Israel’s war on Gaza has resulted in at least 62,895 deaths and 158,927 injuries, according to available data.

In contrast, the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023, claimed 1,139 lives in Israel, with over 200 individuals taken captive.

As the conflict rages on, concerns are being raised about Israel’s military actions and their impact on civilians. Israeli forces have been accused of targeting journalists, with Reporters Without Borders claiming that Israel is attempting to create a “blackout” in Gaza.

The attack on Gaza’s Nasser Hospital has drawn widespread condemnation, including from the European Union, which described it as “completely unacceptable”.

The situation on the ground remains dire, with experts calling for an investigation into Israel’s actions.

The UNRWA chief has warned that malnourished children in Gaza City are at risk of death if there is no crisis plan in place.

As the international community grapples with the crisis, questions are being raised about the role of global powers in exacerbating the conflict. With the death toll mounting and humanitarian needs growing, there is an urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
