Paris Saint-Germain Feminines have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade on a contract running until June 30, 2027.

The 25-year-old forward joins from Atlético de Madrid, where she became a key figure after moving from Norwegian side Avaldsnes IL in 2021.

In the 2024/25 campaign, Ajibade made 25 appearances for Atlético, scoring eight goals and providing three assists.

Born in Lagos’ Mushin district, Ajibade first came to prominence with FC Robo Queens, one of Nigeria’s most renowned women’s clubs.

Her performances earned her the Nigeria Football Federation’s Young Player of the Year award in 2018 before her move abroad.

On the international stage, Ajibade has established herself as one of Africa’s top forwards.

A versatile attacker capable of playing across the frontline, she has won the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations twice with Nigeria — in 2018 and most recently in WAFCON 2024 in Morroco , when she captained the Super Falcons to glory.

She was also a standout performer at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand and featured prominently for Nigeria at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

With more than 30 caps to her name, Ajibade is widely regarded as one of the most influential African players of her generation.

Commenting on her move, Ajibade said:

“I’m deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a top-drawer club in Europe. This is a major step for me, and I’m committed to giving my all to help PSG win titles and to inspire young footballers, be they in Nigeria or elsewhere.”

Ajibade becomes the latest African star to join PSG’s women’s side as the club continues to strengthen its squad in pursuit of both domestic dominance and UEFA Women’s Champions League glory this season.
