American singer and actress, Selena Gomez, has expressed optimism about becoming a mother one day, despite her long-standing health challenges. The award-winning star, who has been open about her battle with lupus and its complications, said she is determined to explore alternatives such as surrogacy and adoption to fulfill her dream of raising children.

In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the 33-year-old singer revealed that she had come to terms with the fact that carrying a pregnancy could put her life at risk due to her medical condition.

However, Selena Gomez, maintained that motherhood remains a priority for her, even if it takes an unconventional route.

“I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me,” she said.

She added that while the experience of motherhood through surrogacy or adoption might look “a little different,” it would not make her bond with her future child any less significant. “It’ll be my baby,” Gomez emphasized.

The actress first disclosed in 2024 that her lupus diagnosis made pregnancy a health risk.

Lupus, an autoimmune disease, causes the body’s immune system to attack its own tissues, leading to widespread inflammation and potential organ damage.

In severe cases, pregnancy can worsen the condition or endanger both mother and child.

Despite the challenges, Gomez, has continued to inspire millions of fans with her resilience.

Over the years, she has undergone a kidney transplant, endured mental health struggles, and faced career pressures, yet she remains a symbol of hope and determination in Hollywood.

Her fiancé, Benny Blanco, has also shared his excitement about building a family with Gomez.

The couple, who got engaged in December 2024, have spoken openly about their love journey and plans for the future.

Blanco has expressed his unwavering support for Gomez, stating that he looks forward to raising children with her, regardless of the method.

Gomez’s revelation has sparked conversations on the importance of normalizing surrogacy and adoption, particularly for women facing medical conditions that prevent natural conception.

Experts believe her openness could encourage more women to embrace alternative pathways to motherhood without stigma.

Fans across social media platforms have praised the “Lose You to Love Me” crooner for her bravery and honesty.

Many noted that her story resonates with people worldwide who struggle with infertility or health-related reproductive challenges.

For Gomez, the road ahead may not be conventional, but it is filled with hope. “Being a mother is something I truly want, and I believe it will happen in the way it’s meant to,” she said.
