Manchester United are making progress in talks with Royal Antwerp over the signing of goalkeeper Senne Lammens, with a €20m deal close to being agreed, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The 23-year-old Belgium U21 international is seen as a long-term addition rather than an immediate replacement for Andre Onana, who remains first choice despite recent uncertainty over his role.

United head coach Ruben Amorim has insisted he is satisfied with his current goalkeeping options, but the club are planning ahead with Onana expected to miss part of the season while representing Cameroon at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in December and January 2026.
Lammens, who stands at 6ft 3in, came through the Club Brugge academy and made his debut in July 2021 before moving to Antwerp two years later.

He made his first appearance for the club in a Champions League clash against FC Porto that November.
Onana, recovering from a hamstring injury, missed United’s opening-day defeat to Arsenal last weekend, where his deputy Altay Bayindir’s error gifted Riccardo Calafiori the winning goal.
Despite speculation about his future, Onana expects to stay at Old Trafford, with United rejecting approaches for his services.

United had previously explored other goalkeeping options, including Aston Villa’s Emi Martínez, deemed too expensive, and Botafogo’s John Victor.
Meanwhile, Napoli are continuing talks with United over a loan-to-buy deal for striker Rasmus Højlund, while Chelsea target Alejandro Garnacho, along with Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia, remain training separately as they await transfer developments.
