American rapper and Grammy-winning star, Lil Nas X, was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) on Thursday morning after causing a public disturbance on Ventura Boulevard.

The 26-year-old “Old Town Road” hitmaker, born Montero Hill, was spotted by eyewitnesses wandering the streets wearing nothing but underwear and cowboy boots.

According to reports, he appeared agitated and erratic, prompting several residents to call 911 around 5:30 a.m.

Police officers responding to the scene confirmed that the rapper allegedly “charged” at them, leading to his arrest on suspicion of battery.

Authorities also revealed that he was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment amid suspicions of a drug overdose.

Shortly after news of his arrest broke, celebrity news outlet TMZ released a viral video showing Lil Nas X, dancing wildly in the middle of the street while shouting at onlookers to “come to the party.”

The footage has since trended across social media platforms, sparking widespread concern about the artist’s mental and physical wellbeing.

Fans and critics have been divided online, with some expressing worry about his health and others suggesting it may have been a publicity stunt.

In a brief statement, the LAPD confirmed that the rapper was taken into custody without major incident after initial resistance.

“The individual displayed erratic behavior and was taken to a medical facility for evaluation. The case remains under investigation,” the department said.

It is not yet clear whether formal charges will be filed against the artist, though sources indicate he could face misdemeanor battery counts if prosecutors pursue the case.

This incident adds to growing concerns over mental health and substance abuse among celebrities, with many stars in recent years making headlines for similar struggles.

Advocates have called for more structured support systems for artists who face the pressures of fame, touring, and public scrutiny.

Entertainment analysts also suggest that the music industry needs to pay closer attention to how stardom impacts young artists.

Lil Nas X, who rose to global fame at just 20 years old with his record-breaking country-rap anthem “Old Town Road,” has been open about his struggles with identity, criticism, and public pressure.

As of press time, neither Lil Nas X ,nor his representatives have issued an official statement regarding his arrest.

His fans, however, have taken to social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram to share messages of support and prayers for his recovery.

The incident comes just weeks after Lil Nas X, revealed in a candid interview that part of his face had been temporarily paralyzed due to health complications.

For now, the rapper’s immediate focus is expected to be on recovery, while legal experts monitor whether the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office will move forward with charges.
