Ademola Lookman has has opened conversations with several Premier League clubs after his dream transfer to Inter Milan fell apart, with the Nigerian forward now back in training at Atalanta.

According to TBR football, Lookman’s representatives have opened discussions with Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Aston Villa in recent days as they push for a late summer exit from Bergamo.

The 27-year-old had gone on a two-week training strike in protest at Atalanta’s refusal to sanction his switch to the San Siro, where Inter were keen to reunite him with former teammate Marcus Thuram.

However, the Nerazzurri formally withdrew their interest earlier this week after failing to reach an agreement, leaving Lookman with no option but to report back to the club’s Zingonia training ground.

TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey revealed that Lookman’s camp remains determined to secure a move before the transfer window closes:

“Lookman is hugely disappointed not to move to Inter — his head was in Milan and he even handed in a transfer request, which is quite rare nowadays. But his people are already looking at options, and there are big clubs in England who would be interested.”

Bailey pointed to the uncertainty in several Premier League squads as a potential opening for Lookman.

Tottenham’s pursuit of Savinho has stalled. Arsenal are still in the market for a natural left winger.

Chelsea have yet to finalise their ambitious move for Alejandro Garnacho.

Manchester City could still need to replace Savinho if he departs.

Aston Villa, who recently sold Jacob Ramsey, are considering attacking reinforcements.

Atalanta value Lookman at £45m, reflecting his rise under former boss Gian Piero Gasperini, who hailed him as “one of the best in Europe and the world” after his breakout 2023/24 campaign.

The forward scored 17 goals last season, including a famous hat-trick in the 2024 Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, securing Atalanta’s first-ever European trophy.

However, his relationship with the club has soured in recent weeks, Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Atalanta are preparing to fine Lookman heavily and dock wages for his unauthorised absence.

Despite the disciplinary stand-off, new head coach Ivan Jurić is understood to be reluctant to lose another attacking talisman, having already seen top scorer Mateo Retegui depart this summer.

Sources in Italy suggest Jurić has asked the club’s hierarchy to make one final attempt to convince Lookman to stay.

With less than two weeks left in the transfer window, Lookman’s future hangs in the balance — between repairing relations in Bergamo or making a high-profile return to the Premier League, where he previously played for Leicester City, Fulham and Everton.
