The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has launched a public manhunt for the son-in-law of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Adamawa-born entrepreneur and investor, Abdullahi Bashir Haske, over alleged involvement in criminal conspiracy and money laundering.

In a formal announcement issued through its spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, the commission urged Nigerians at home and abroad to provide credible information on Haske’s movements and current whereabouts. The EFCC publicised his photograph to aid the search and provided details of his last known residential addresses.

According to the statement, Abdullahi Bashir Haske, who is 38, was last traced to two Lagos residences: No. 6 Mosley Road, Ikoyi, and 952/953 Idejo Street, Victoria Island. The EFCC noted that efforts to reach him at these addresses proved unsuccessful, hence the decision to declare him wanted.

“The public is hereby notified that Abdullahi Bashir Haske is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in connection with a case of alleged criminal conspiracy and money laundering,” the anti-graft body announced.

Citizens with helpful tips are strongly encouraged to report to the nearest police station or to any EFCC office across the federation. The commission emphasised that information can be relayed through its dedicated hotlines, official email address, or physical offices in major Nigerian cities such as Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Kano, and Enugu.

The EFCC explained that its decision to seek public assistance aligns with its mandate of combating financial crimes and ensuring that individuals accused of economic offences are held accountable. The agency reaffirmed its determination to follow due legal process in prosecuting suspects once they are apprehended.

While the commission did not disclose further details about the scale or nature of the alleged conspiracy and laundering transactions linked to Haske, it appealed for maximum cooperation from public members to ensure that the suspect is quickly located and brought to justice.

Abdullahi Haske’s declaration as a wanted person comes amid the EFCC’s renewed nationwide campaign against high-profile financial crimes, underscoring its resolve to clamp down on individuals and networks involved in illicit financial dealings.
