The Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU) has expressed profound appreciation to the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, for inviting the Union to participate in FGNCONNECT, an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Information designed to bridge the gap between government and citizens.

In a statement signed by Comrade Izang Francis, the Union’s National Publicity Secretary, the National President of RATTAWU, Comrade Prince Emeka Kalu, said the programme is a laudable platform aimed at sensitising Nigerians on government policies, achievements, and developmental direction.
According to him, RATTAWU values the opportunity to be part of this strategic engagement, which not only enlightens citizens but also fosters stronger bonds between the government and the people.
Comrade Kalu emphasized that RATTAWU is proud to associate with the Ministry of Information and National Orientation and stands ready to collaborate in advancing the Ministry’s five-point agenda.

These include: Restoring Public trust; Amplifying Policies and Programmes of the Federal Government; Reorientation of National values; Modernizing through technology, and Creating enabling environment for the Media to thrive.
Highlighting recent activities under FGNCONNECT, the Union pointed to the tour of infrastructural development in Ebonyi State and other engagements undertaken by the Visiting team of which RATTAWU is part, will go a long way in creating awareness of the giant strides of Government in meeting the desires of the People.
He further stressed that the collaboration between RATTAWU and the Ministry demonstrates the significance of stakeholders’ roles in governance.

“The partnership established,” President Kalu says, “underscores the importance of every Stakeholders role in ensuring Citizens are carried along and feedback mechanisms stimulated for better organisation and assessment of the impact of policies and programmes of government on the people by the transformative agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR).
The Union reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Ministry in its mission of national reorientation.
“RATTAWU will continue to create platforms and galvanize its Members for action to ensure the programmes of Government are transmitted beyond borders.”
