Tottenham Hotspur are increasingly optimistic about completing the signing of Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze before the transfer window closes.
Eze, who featured in Palace’s opening-day draw with Chelsea on Sunday, is edging closer to a move across London after Spurs chairman Daniel Levy stepped up negotiations with Eagles counterpart Steve Parish according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Talks are centred around a package worth between £55m and £60m, with personal terms already agreed.
Levy Ready to Spend Big
Spurs have already splashed £55m to make Mohammed Kudus their record signing this summer, and a similar outlay is being readied for Eze.
The 27-year-old England international is viewed as a natural No.10 but also offers versatility across the front line, a trait Thomas Frank values highly.
The north London club accelerated their pursuit of attacking reinforcements following the departure of Heung-min Son to MLS side Los Angeles FC earlier this month for just over £20m.

Eze Pushing for Spurs Switch
Although Eze’s £68m release clause expired earlier this summer, leaving Palace in a strong negotiating position, the player has made it clear he wants to join Tottenham.
Having lifted the FA Cup with Palace last season and the Community Shield earlier this month, he is eager for a new challenge – particularly the chance to play Champions League football for the first time.
English Pundit Jamie Carragher has previously described Eze as a “superstar,” and the playmaker is determined to cement his place in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Palace Weighing Up Replacements
Crystal Palace are prepared to sanction Eze’s departure once a suitable replacement is secured, the club has made an approach for Leicester City midfielder Bilal El Khannouss and also identified Christos Tzolis of Club Brugge as another potential option.
Head coach Oliver Glasner, who insisted on Sunday that he still expects Eze to play in Thursday’s UEFA Conference League qualifier against Fredrikstad, faces the prospect of losing his talisman before the weekend.

Deal Could Be Done This Week
Eze, currently earning £100,000 per week at Palace, could be unveiled as a Spurs player before the end of the week if Palace land a replacement in time.
Tottenham face Manchester City on Saturday, and there is growing confidence that Eze could be available for Thomas Frank’s squad by then.
For Spurs, the deal would mark another statement signing in their new era under Frank – and provide the creative spark to soften the blow of James Maddison’s long-term injury absence while adding depth to their Champions League campaign.
