Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that he will meet with US President Donald Trump in Washington, D.C., on Monday to discuss key details regarding ending the ongoing conflict and achieving peace.
This development comes after Trump’s recent summit with Russian President Vladimiri Putin.
According to Zelenskyy, the two leaders had a “long and substantive conversation” prior to the announcement of the meeting. “We started with one-on-one talks before inviting European leaders to join us,” Zelenskyy stated.
The call, which lasted over an hour and a half, included about an hour of bilateral conversation between the two presidents.

Zelenskyy emphasized Ukraine’s commitment to working towards peace, saying, “Ukraine reaffirms its readiness to work with maximum effort to achieve peace.”
He also expressed support for Trump’s proposal for a trilateral meeting between Ukraine, the US, and Russia, noting that key issues can be effectively discussed at the leader level. “Ukraine emphasizes that key issues can be discussed at the level of leaders, and a trilateral format is suitable for this,” he added.
The Ukrainian president highlighted the importance of European involvement in the peace process, stating, “It is important that Europeans are involved at every stage to ensure reliable security guarantees together with America.”
Zelenskyy also mentioned that there have been positive signals from the American side regarding participation in guaranteeing Ukraine’s security.

Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for the support Ukraine has received, saying, “I thank everyone who is helping.” He looks forward to discussing the details of the peace process with Trump on Monday, with the aim of bringing an end to the conflict.
“On Monday, I will meet with President Trump in Washington, D.C., to discuss all of the details regarding ending the killing and the war,” he concluded.
