Nollywood actress Bimpe Akintunde, widely known by her screen name Wasila Coded, has opened up about the harrowing health battles she faced during her recent pregnancy, which nearly jeopardised her life and that of her unborn child.

The actress, who welcomed her second daughter in July 2025, revealed in a heartfelt Instagram post that her nine-month journey was filled with fear, uncertainty, and repeated medical emergencies.
Akintunde disclosed that she began experiencing severe low blood pressure in January, just weeks into her pregnancy. Despite her condition, she continued to work actively on film sets until the situation worsened.
“I remember collapsing while filming The Return of Sambala in Ikorodu. Luckily, my clinic was close by, so I rushed myself there,” she recounted.
Throughout the pregnancy, the actress said she was admitted to the hospital on emergency grounds at least six different times. The recurring health scares left her emotionally and physically drained.
Beyond her medical struggles, Wasila Coded revealed she was plagued by unsettling dreams and dire prophecies from people who claimed to have “seen visions” concerning her pregnancy.
“I had so many scary dreams and death revelations from people who didn’t even know I was pregnant. But I held onto God and trusted His grace,” she shared.
Despite the uncertainty, the actress said her faith gave her courage to endure each day.
According to Akintunde, she had only gone to her clinic for a routine treatment on July 17 when her doctor instructed her to stay behind for monitoring. By the next morning, she unexpectedly went into labour.
“My heart skipped when the doctor told me the baby was on the way. Everything happened so fast. Within three hours, I gave birth naturally with no C-section, no complications,” she said with relief.
The delivery, which doctors at the clinic described as the fastest recorded this year, brought immense joy to the actress, especially as it came nearly ten years after her last childbirth.
Akintunde, who has built a reputation in Nollywood for her comedic roles, said her story is a testimony of resilience and divine intervention.
“Mom and daughter are doing fine. After all the frightening experiences, God showed me mercy. It can only be Him,” she concluded in her post.
Since sharing her experience, Nollywood colleagues and fans have flooded her page with congratulatory messages, praising her strength and courage.

Many described her story as a source of encouragement to women battling difficult pregnancies.
Her candid revelation also sheds light on the health challenges many women in the film industry face but rarely speak about, especially while balancing demanding careers with personal health struggles.
Now a proud mother of two, Wasila Coded says she is grateful for a second chance at motherhood and looks forward to returning to her career after her maternity break.
Her story serves as a reminder of the resilience of women, the dangers of pregnancy-related complications, and the importance of medical care and emotional support for expectant mothers.
