Italian side AS Roma have tabled a £20m offer for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, who remains frozen out of first-team training and has been told to find a new club before the transfer window closes on 1 September.
The 25-year-old joined United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for £73m but has struggled to make an impact, scoring just 12 goals in 83 appearances. Sancho’s contract runs until next summer, with the club holding an option for an extra year, though his high wages make an extension unlikely.

Juventus, who will play in this season’s Champions League, are also interested, while Roma are exploring both permanent and loan options. A loan could be complicated by Sancho’s contract situation, though United may consider it late in the window to ease their wage bill.
Sancho has endured a turbulent spell at Old Trafford. He was frozen out in September 2023 after claiming on social media that then-manager Erik ten Hag had made him a “scapegoat” — comments made in response to criticism over his training levels.
After a short-lived return, he spent the second half of 2023–24 back on loan at Dortmund, and last season began a loan spell at Chelsea before the Blues paid £5m to cancel an obligation to buy him for £25m.

Sancho last played for United in last season’s Community Shield defeat to Manchester City, missing a penalty in the shoot-out. He is currently one of four players — alongside Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia — training away from Ruben Amorim’s squad as they look for moves.

Marcus Rashford was also part of that group before sealing a loan switch to Barcelona last month.
United are holding out for £50m for Garnacho, while Antony and Malacia have returned from loans at Real Betis and PSV respectively with their futures unresolved.
