Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement worth up to £30m with Manchester City for midfielder James McAtee, with sell-on and buy-back clauses included in the deal.
The 22-year-old, a product of City’s academy, made 34 first-team appearances and scored seven goals, also enjoying two loan spells at Sheffield United. Last season, he featured in 27 matches for Pep Guardiola’s side, starting three in the Premier League.
McAtee will become Forest’s third summer signing following the £44m arrivals of winger Dan Ndoye and striker Igor Jesus. The club also extended the contract of Morgan Gibbs-White, while selling forward Anthony Elanga to Newcastle for £55m.

Competing in the UEFA Europa League this season, Forest are looking to further strengthen their squad and are actively pursuing Omari Hutchinson, Douglas Luiz, and Arnaud Kalimuendo, while also negotiating a new deal for Callum Hudson-Odoi.

According to transfer expert David Ornstein, Nottingham Forest are close to finalising a £37.5m deal for relegated Ipswich winger Omari Hutchinson after an initial £35m bid was rejected. The 20-year-old, absent from Ipswich’s Championship opener due to illness, is understood to be keen on a Premier League return. Brentford also showed interest earlier in the summer but failed to reach an agreement.

Move for Luiz
The club have approached Juventus regarding a move for Douglas Luiz, with two other Premier League sides also bidding for the Brazilian midfielder. Luiz, 27, joined Juve from Aston Villa last summer but has struggled to settle in Turin. Juventus are open to offers.

Talks over Kalimuendo
Forest are in negotiations with Rennes over striker Arnaud Kalimuendo according to Fabrizio Romano. The 23 year old striker who has scored 40 goals and provided 14 assists in 112 appearances since joining from PSG. RB Leipzig and Villarreal have shown interest, but Leipzig are finalising a deal for another forward.

Meanwhile talks are progressing with Callum Hudson-Odoi over a contract extension.
