The Oyo State Government has inaugurated a Staff Audit and Verification Committee for the Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa, in a decisive step aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency in the institution.

This was revealed in a statement issued on August 12, 2025, by the Oyo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade. According to the statement, the exercise underscores the government’s commitment to building a polytechnic system that is transparent, accountable, and equipped for future challenges.
Speaking at the formal inauguration of the committee held at the Scholarship Board Conference Room of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, the Commissioner, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola, described the move as a significant milestone in Governor Seyi Makinde’s education reform agenda. He stressed that the true strength of the polytechnic lies not only in academic excellence but also in the integrity, capacity, and efficiency of its workforce.

Hon. Olayiwola explained that the committee’s mandate includes verifying staff records, identifying structural gaps and redundancies, and recommending policies that will enhance institutional efficiency. He further highlighted the importance of carrying out the assignment with the utmost professionalism, impartiality, and confidentiality.
The Commissioner pledged the Ministry’s full support for the success of the exercise, expressing optimism that the findings would provide credible data to guide future decision-making for the institution.
In her welcome remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Bamidele Oyinloye, commended the polytechnic’s management for their past cooperation with government initiatives. She called for deeper collaboration between all stakeholders to accelerate the advancement of tertiary education in the state.

The Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Kazeem Adebiyi, also addressed the gathering, noting that the creation of the committee followed requests from the institution’s union members. He stressed the importance of reinforcing internal processes and operational standards to achieve better outcomes.
The committee is chaired by Prof. Sarafadeen Kareem, with Dr. Ibrahim Rasheed serving as Secretary. Its membership comprises experienced professionals drawn from other educational institutions, the Ministry of Education, and representatives of the polytechnic’s union.
Through this initiative, the Oyo State Government signals its readiness to uphold merit, accountability, and excellence in the administration of the state-owned polytechnic, ensuring it remains a hub of quality learning and innovation.
