Gianluigi Donnarumma has agreed personal terms with Manchester City ahead of a potential summer move from Paris Saint-Germain, according to L’Équipe, The Italian goalkeeper has spoken directly with Pep Guardiola, who is personally driving the push to bring him to the Etihad.

City must now reach an agreement with PSG, who are demanding €50m — a figure considered too high by the Premier League champions. A deal is also contingent on Ederson’s departure, with the Brazilian in talks to join Galatasaray.

Donnarumma on Tuesday took to his social media handles to confirm that he will leave PSG after being frozen out by manager Luis Enrique, who wants a goalkeeper more comfortable playing out from the back.

His current contract runs until 2026, but negotiations over a renewal collapsed after PSG attempted to cut his €10m-per-year net salary in favour of performance-based incentives.

The European champions have already moved to replace him, signing Lucas Chevalier from Lille. Donnarumma was left out of the squad for the UEFA European Super Cup clash against Tottenham — a clear signal his time in Paris is over.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Galatasaray and Inter Milan have all been linked, but Donnarumma’s preference is believed to be a move to City.

The 25-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, having produced a string of world-class performances to help PSG lift the Champions League last season.

He delivered match-winning saves against Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal en route to the final, before keeping a clean sheet in the 5-0 demolition of Inter in Munich.

Since making his debut at 16 with AC Milan, Donnarumma has amassed over 400 club appearances and 74 Italy caps, earning Player of the Tournament honours at UEFA Euro 2020. His heroics against England in the final at Wembley remain one of the most iconic moments of his career.
