Tottenham Hotspur are accelerating efforts to sign Crystal Palace and England forward Eberechi Eze, with new manager Thomas Frank targeting the playmaker as a key solution to an injury-hit attack.
Eze, 27, has informed Palace of his desire to move to Spurs, motivated by the lure of Champions League football following Tottenham’s Europa League triumph last season.

Renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that the move now hinges on direct negotiations between the clubs, with Spurs “seriously working” to secure his signature.
The England international enjoyed a standout 2024–25 campaign, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions, including a match-winning strike in the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

Frank sees Eze as the perfect creative replacement for James Maddison, who faces a lengthy layoff with an ACL rupture, and Dejan Kulusevski, sidelined after knee surgery. The departure of club legend Son Heung-min earlier this summer has further underlined the need for attacking reinforcements.
Eze’s £68m release clause expired on 8 August, forcing Spurs into direct talks with Palace, who are expected to demand a fee in the region of £60m plus add-ons. Tottenham are also in discussions with Manchester City over Brazilian winger Savinho, but Eze is now considered their top target.

Meanwhile, Arsenal also remain interested in Eze, who they released as a teenager, but their pursuit is complicated by the need to raise funds through player sales, with Leandro Trossard, Reiss Nelson, and Fabio Vieira among those potentially leaving.

Signed from Queens Park Rangers for £19.5m in 2020, Eze has become a talisman for Palace, scoring 40 goals in 168 appearances. His current contract runs until 2027, leaving the Eagles in a strong negotiating position. However, sources suggest that Eze is keen to take the next step in his career — and Tottenham are determined to make it happen.
