The Bauchi State Police Command has officially confirmed the unfortunate death of a serving corps member within the Dambam Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The incident, which has left the local community and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in shock, reportedly occurred on the morning of Sunday, August 10, 2025, at approximately 9:20 a.m.
Reliable sources revealed that the deceased, identified as Mr. Nwokedi Chukwuebuka Gerald, a 28-year-old corps member bearing the state code number BA/25A/2069, was found unresponsive by his fellow Christian corps members. The group had been in the midst of preparing for their regular Sunday church service when they noticed that Mr. Gerald failed to wake up and showed no signs of life.

Upon discovering this alarming situation, the corps members promptly alerted local authorities, leading to the swift arrival of a police team at the scene. The officers immediately conveyed the deceased’s body to the General Hospital in Dambam for medical assessment. Medical practitioners at the hospital officially confirmed Mr. Gerald’s death following their examination.
Subsequently, the remains of the late corps member were transferred to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Azare, where they have been preserved pending further post-mortem examinations or investigations.
