Side Chick Crashes Lover’s Wife’s New Car, Kills Passenger in Tricycle Accident — Husband Now in Deep Trouble

A dramatic mix of betrayal, tragedy, and irony has unfolded after a woman alleged to be a married man’s side chick crashed a newly purchased car belonging to the man’s wife, fatally injuring a passenger in a commercial tricycle.

The shocking incident, which has since gone viral on social media, was made public by Nigerian human rights activist Comrade Israel Joe in a Facebook post on Saturday, August 9, 2025.



According to Comrade Joe, the saga began when the married man took his wife’s recently acquired car—a vehicle she had specifically bought for her own daily use—to a hotel where he had lodged with his side chick.

The wife, who had no knowledge of her husband’s activities, had entrusted him with the car only because his own vehicle was in need of repairs. Unbeknownst to her, he decided to use it to facilitate his extramarital escapades.

While at the hotel, the side chick reportedly informed the man that she wanted to step out to buy some items. Without hesitation, he handed her the keys to the car, granting her full permission to drive off.

Comrade Joe narrated: “The girlfriend told him she wanted to get some stuff, and the man graciously approved of her to use the car his wife bought for herself newly, which he drove to the hotel.”



Shortly after leaving, the side chick was involved in a collision with a commercial tricycle (keke napep). The impact was severe, and one of the tricycle’s passengers lost his life on the spot.



The police were quickly alerted to the scene. The side chick was arrested and taken into custody, while the damaged vehicle was towed to the station as evidence.

Meanwhile, completely unaware of the unfolding drama, the wife was busy trying to reach her husband by phone. She reportedly called multiple times, asking him to bring her car so she could pick up their children from her mother’s place before returning to her shop to close for the day.

In a further twist of irony, she also informed her husband that she had contacted a mechanic to repair his car so that he could stop using her newly purchased vehicle.



In his social media post, Comrade Joe did not hide his frustration over the matter. He expressed it using a vivid metaphor in Pidgin English: “Breadwinner dey hustle give person wey wan burn down the bakery.”
(The breadwinner is working hard to provide for someone who is about to destroy everything.)



He went on to reveal that the husband had now switched off his phone, seeking advice on how to handle the situation, and had even reached out to him for help.

However, the activist noted that the man had been repeatedly warned about the risks of his relationship with the side chick. Friends had advised him to end the affair, highlighting her lack of respect and potential to cause trouble.




The case remains under police investigation as the family of the deceased tricycle passenger demands justice, while the marital home of the man involved is likely facing its own storm of consequences.
