Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has issued a clarion call to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to work with absolute dedication, unity, and strategic precision to ensure an overwhelming victory for the party in the forthcoming by-elections.
The polls, slated for August 16, will determine the new representatives for the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency as well as the Basawa and Sabo Gari State Constituencies in the State House of Assembly.
The governor made the call on Friday during the formal inauguration of the APC Campaign Committee for the by-elections in Kaduna. He was represented at the event by his deputy, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, who delivered his address to party leaders, elected officials, and supporters gathered for the occasion.
Governor Sani disclosed that the campaign committee will be chaired by the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Dahiru Liman, and will include prominent party stalwarts, serving and former public office holders, respected technocrats, and seasoned grassroots mobilisers from across the state.
He said the calibre of individuals chosen was a deliberate move to ensure that the committee is well-equipped to deliver results in all three constituencies.
Urging the committee to rise to the challenge, the governor stated: “Great moments require great minds. What lies ahead of us on August 16 demands total commitment and strategic action. We must work with discipline, focus, and unity to achieve nothing short of a clean sweep.”
He further advised that the campaign should not merely be about party politics, but should reflect the tangible achievements of his administration. According to him, highlighting infrastructural development, economic empowerment initiatives, security interventions, and improved governance in Kaduna State will help build public confidence.
“Win the trust of the people along with their votes,” Governor Sani charged. “You carry the flag of a party with honour and legacy – uphold it with integrity. Victory is not optional; it is imperative. Let us write a new chapter of dominance, service, and progress for the APC in Kaduna State.”
In his goodwill message, the APC Kaduna State Chairman, retired Air Commodore Emmanuel Jekada, emphasised that the campaign committee members were carefully selected based on their proven track records in leadership, political mobilisation, and service to the party. He urged them to approach the assignment with a winning mentality, warning that complacency must be avoided at all costs.
Jekada reaffirmed the party’s confidence that with a united front, disciplined organisation, and strategic engagement of the electorate, the APC would secure a decisive victory in the Chikun/Kajuru, Basawa, and Sabo Gari constituencies.
He concluded by calling on all party members to rally behind the campaign team and play their part in ensuring that the APC maintains its dominance in Kaduna State politics.
