A 29-year-old woman, Autumn Marie Bardisa, has been arrested in Florida for allegedly posing as a registered nurse and treating approximately 4,486 patients without a valid medical license. The fake Nurse worked as an advanced nurse technician at AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway from July 2023 to January 2025, where she submitted false documentation and provided a license number belonging to another nurse with the same first name employed at a different AdventHealth hospital.

According to Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly, Bardisa claimed she had recently gotten married and changed her surname to explain the discrepancy in her documentation. However, she failed to provide her marriage license when asked. The investigation began in January after a colleague reported Bardisa’s expired nursing assistant license, leading to her contract termination and a seven-month criminal investigation.

Bardisa has been charged with 14 felony counts, including practicing medicine without a license, fraudulent use of someone else’s ID, and selling prescription medication to a hospital employee. Sheriff Staly emphasized the severity of the case, stating, “This is one of the most disturbing cases of medical fraud we’ve ever investigated.” He further noted that Bardisa “potentially put thousands of lives at risk by pretending to be someone she was not and violating the trust of patients, their families, AdventHealth, and an entire medical community.”

The Sheriff’s Office has set up a dedicated email address, fakenursecase@flaglersheriff.com, for individuals who believe they have been treated by Bardisa. She is currently being held at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility on a $70,000 bond.
