Popular reality TV star and actor, Adeoluwa Okusaga, fondly known as Saga, has announced a heartfelt charitable initiative to honour the memory of his late mother who passed away 11 years ago. In an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday, the Big Brother Naija alum revealed plans to gift ₦100,000 each to 10 motherless individuals, totaling ₦1 million, in what he described as a tribute to the woman who inspired his journey.

Saga’s message, which quickly resonated across social media platforms, was not only a touching remembrance of his late mum but also a call to support others who, like him, are navigating life without maternal care. “In honour of you, I would like to give a helping hand to 10 motherless children like me,” Saga wrote, inviting interested individuals to share their stories and account details through his direct message.
The initiative, which he plans to execute within 48 hours, is intended to provide immediate financial relief in a challenging economy. He encouraged followers to tag others who might benefit from the gesture, emphasizing the harsh realities of the current economic climate.
“This economy is hard enough as it stands. Always and forever, Mum,” Saga wrote.
The actor’s post was laced with raw emotion, as he opened up about the pain he still feels over the loss of his mother. He admitted that he couldn’t bring himself to create a new tribute video this year and instead reused last year’s version.
“11 years, gone by too fast. I want to stand on a mountain and scream loudly. Maybe somehow you’ll hear me say ‘I miss you!’” he shared.
Saga also reflected on the struggles he has faced in her absence, including feelings of loneliness, emotional turmoil, and moments of personal doubt. Yet, he credited her enduring legacy with helping him persevere.
“In all of this… I have never given up, just like you taught me. The light you left in me still burns, Mum,” he wrote. “I am all I am because of you.”
Saga, who has blossomed into both an actor and producer since his BBNaija debut, also celebrated the role his mother played in nurturing his creativity and strength of character.

Since sharing the initiative, fans and followers have flooded his page with praise, hailing him for combining vulnerability with purposeful action. Many commended the star for using his platform to uplift others, particularly in a society where many orphans and motherless children often struggle for attention and support.
This act of generosity is not Saga’s first foray into humanitarian efforts. During and after his stint in the Big Brother Naija house, he has been vocal about mental health, personal growth, and resilience — values he now channels into real-world impact.
The selection process for recipients will be managed directly by Saga through his social media channel, and the funds are expected to be disbursed within 48 hours. Each participant is required to share a brief story about their late mother, reasons for needing the financial aid, and valid bank details.
Saga’s tribute comes at a time when many Nigerians are struggling with inflation, economic hardship, and high youth unemployment. His gesture is a timely reminder of the importance of empathy, remembrance, and social responsibility.
