Nollywood actress and content creator Mobimpe Adedimeji has publicly condemned a YouTube channel for allegedly impersonating her and stealing her original content, sparking a wave of online support and calls for action.

Mobimpe, who is also the founder of Mobimpe TV, took to social media to express her frustration over the ongoing intellectual property theft. According to her, the offending channel, named “Mobimpewrite’s Stories,” has been duplicating her videos, posters, and social media captions to mislead viewers into believing it is officially affiliated with her.
In a strongly worded post, the actress revealed the emotional and mental toll the situation has taken on her. “I’m tired. I’m fed up,” she wrote. “Someone created a YouTube channel named Mobimpewrite’s Stories just to copy everything I do. Video for video. Poster for poster.”
Mobimpe recounted how the channel replicated a heartfelt birthday post she shared for her mother, using the exact words and sentiment, an act she described as not only disrespectful but deeply disturbing. “That’s not inspiration. That’s theft,” she emphasized.
Despite efforts by her team to report the impersonating page to YouTube, the issue persists. She has now appealed directly to her fanbase to help mass-report the channel, urging YouTube to take swift action to address what she described as an “extremely risky” situation.
“She’s gaining followers, subscribers, likes and deceiving people who think it’s me,” Mobimpe lamented. “This is my sweat, my tears, my consistency—being hijacked by someone hiding behind a screen.”

The actress also hinted at pursuing legal action and called on fans, lawyers, and digital experts to suggest reliable means of addressing the infringement both legally and technically.
In a heartfelt message to the impersonator, she warned: “You will not go scot-free. You’re impersonating me and deceiving people—and one thing I can assure you is this: you will be caught. Soon.”
The situation has reignited discussions around digital impersonation and content theft in Nollywood, where several actors and creators have fallen victim to similar schemes. Mobimpe’s case shines a spotlight on the challenges public figures face in protecting their intellectual property in the ever-growing online space.
She concluded her statement with a powerful reminder of the hard work behind her brand: “I built MOBIMPE TV with tears, passion, and consistency. I won’t let someone else ruin that or hijack what I’ve poured my heart and soul into.”
The actress’s outcry comes amid a broader wave of digital impersonation scams, particularly targeting celebrities and influencers on platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. Recently, she also warned her fans about a similar scam account impersonating her on TikTok.
As fans rally around her, the hope is that tech platforms and legal channels will move more swiftly to address impersonation cases and protect original creators.
