Prominent relationship coach and social media personality, Blessing CEO, has publicly condemned what she describes as the unlawful arrest and detention of her fiancé, celebrity auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command.

According to Blessing, IVD was apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, while attempting to board a flight to Qatar. The arrest, she claimed, is connected to an ongoing domestic violence case involving IVD and his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna, who tragically passed away under controversial circumstances in 2022.
In a series of emotional posts shared on her Instagram handle, Blessing CEO insisted that IVD’s arrest was baseless, stressing that no travel restrictions had ever been placed on him by the court. She pointed out that her fiancé had openly announced his travel plans on social media, arguing that no rational person subject to a travel ban would make such public disclosures.
“There was no ban whatsoever on him. If there was, why would he make his travel public?” she wrote. She further explained that IVD only recently renewed his passport after it had been missing for two years, and had never submitted any to the court, which further nullifies claims of a travel violation.
The outspoken influencer did not mince words as she accused certain individuals within the police of abusing their authority to “bully” and “intimidate” IVD. Blessing alleged that a lone powerful individual within the police hierarchy had ordered IVD’s detention without a case file, formal statement, or judicial warrant.
“Nobody arrested IVD. One man is using power to bully him. No case file, no statement, just ‘Oga said hold him till Monday.’ So we go lock am up.” she wrote, questioning the legality and ethicality of such detention.
She suggested that the timing of the arrest—coinciding with the court vacation period—was a calculated move to frustrate IVD’s ability to seek legal redress. “They know the judges are on vacation, which is why the bullying is ongoing.”

Blessing CEO also questioned the transparency of the police process, pointing out that bloggers seemed to have more information about the case than official channels, which she suggested indicated internal leaks or manipulation. “How come bloggers know everything the police don’t? I wonder how much that woman paid you, Oga.” she remarked, implying foul play.
Insisting that IVD has never violated bail conditions in the three years since the domestic violence case began, Blessing stressed that he had no reason to flee. “He had a return ticket for a 10-day trip. Why would he jump bail now after being consistent for three years?”
She appealed directly to the Lagos State Government to intervene urgently, warning that the situation could escalate if unchecked. “Lagos State, please come into this before it gets messy. Why are they holding IVD? This is injustice.”
This development adds a new layer of controversy to IVD’s widely publicized legal troubles, which began after his late wife, Bimbo, died in a domestic incident that sparked nationwide outrage and calls for justice. While IVD has continued to maintain his innocence, the case has remained under investigation, with sporadic court appearances and public debates.
Blessing CEO has previously defended her fiancé while also offering commentary on gender relations and modern marriages. However, this latest outburst appears to take a more combative turn, suggesting mounting frustration over what she perceives as harassment and gender-based bias against IVD.
The unfolding saga underscores ongoing concerns about law enforcement accountability and due process in Nigeria. As the public awaits further clarification from the police, the spotlight remains on whether IVD’s rights were violated and if there is indeed merit to Blessing CEO’s claims of systemic intimidation.
