First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Hails D’Tigress’ Historic AfroBasket Triumph

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has congratulated the national women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, on their landmark victory at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket tournament in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

D’Tigress secured their fifth consecutive AfroBasket title and seventh overall on Sunday night with a commanding 78–64 win over Mali, further cementing their legacy as the most dominant team in African women’s basketball.

In a personally signed statement, the First Lady praised the team for their exceptional achievement and highlighted the symbolic importance of their triumph.
