The much-anticipated Big Brother Naija Season 10, themed BBNaija: 10/10, kicked off with a bang, unleashing a whirlwind of drama, emotional breakdowns, heated confrontations, and budding strategies—all within the first week. As 24 housemates settle into the Big Brother House, it’s clear this season is not for the faint-hearted.

From impressive entrances to controversial nominations and unexpected diary room confessions, viewers were treated to a spectacular opening week that trended across social media, leaving fans gasping, laughing, and debating.

If there was one person who set the tone early, it was Imisi. Her eccentric entrance—marked by a chaotic wig, clashing outfit, and traditional Yoruba greeting “Eku Ile”—sparked a viral storm. Within hours, #Imisi was trending across X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok, as viewers debated whether her appearance was a social experiment or a masterclass in reality TV unpredictability.

In a now-viral diary session, Zita called out housemates for “forcing drama,” declaring herself a natural “Dagbana Choko.” When Biggie asked for clarification, her fumbled slang explanation (“Skolomindos… sorry”) left viewers in stitches. It was one of the most shared clips of the week.

A tense clash between Mesan and Kaybobo escalated after Mesan accused the latter of being a bully. Kaybobo’s fiery retort, “You wanna see a bully? If you see me left, go right,” went viral, leading to his emotional breakdown hours later. The moment humanised him to fans, even as the “bully” label lingered.

Another heated exchange unfolded when Rooboy took offense after Jason Jae jokingly called him crazy. Though the term was meant lightly, Rooboy’s emotional response revealed deeper sensitivity, leading to an apology and online support from fans who praised his vulnerability.

One of the strangest moments of the week came from Mide, who named “Menanze” and “Deziani” during nominations—neither of whom are actual housemates. Biggie’s deadpan response, “Are these housemates?” became meme material. Later in the week, Ebuka revealed all nominations were fake—part of a Week 1 twist to disarm the housemates.

A fiery altercation over noodles between Koyin and Kaybobo led to one of the most memorable quotes of the week: “Na your papa get Lagos?” While Koyin broke down in tears, fans were surprised when he refrained from nominating Kaybobo later—possibly indicating strategic restraint.

Jason Jae, initially appointed interim Head of House, secured the official HoH title after Monday’s challenge, defeating strong contenders like Rooboy, Sultana, and Bright Morgan. His leadership has already sparked subtle power plays within the house.

Drama boiled over when Kenari accused Otega of hogging grilled chicken. “You dey claim chef, you dey in charge of grill,” he shouted as Otega clutched a full plate. It took Victory and Thelma to deescalate the tension.

Perhaps the most touching moment came when Mesan tearfully shared his struggle to support his mother and siblings. “Am I on live TV?” he asked Biggie, his voice cracking. The scene earned applause across social media for its raw honesty.

Despite their early fireworks, the housemates failed their first wager task—a masquerade-themed performance night. Biggie was visibly unimpressed. The result? A tight welfare week ahead with limited provisions.

While drama dominated, Week 1 also saw lighter moments. From spontaneous dance sessions led by Koyin to kitchen bonding, there’s a clear undercurrent of game strategy taking shape. Housemates are carefully selecting alliances and testing waters ahead of inevitable evictions.

As Week 2 approaches, tensions are expected to rise with the real eviction process kicking off. Saturday’s night party will likely stir new narratives, flings, and maybe rivalries.

With drama, heart, strategy, and culture colliding, BBNaija S10 is already shaping up to be a fan-favorite—and the audience can’t get enough.
