Controversial Niger Delta figure and former militant leader, Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo, has issued a warning against human rights activist and public commentator, Comrade Israel Joe, threatening to have him arrested over remarks made concerning a viral video showing Dokubo and his private security outfit parading with high-powered firearms, including AK-47 rifles.

The video, which circulated widely on social media platforms, showed Dokubo and his armed men in a public parade, raising concerns among citizens and civil society groups about the legality and implications of such a brazen display of weapons.
In reaction, Comrade Israel Joe took to social media to call out the perceived inaction of the country’s security apparatus, questioning why no government agency had moved to address what he described as an “alarming and dangerous trend.”
In a strongly worded post, Joe stated, “A few days ago, we saw Asari Dokubo in a celebratory gyration flanked by men wielding AK-47 rifles—left, right, center, and all corners. Shockingly, no security agency responded.

But if this same scenario involved Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, there would have been widespread calls to involve the EFCC, Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army, Civil Defence Corps, and even local vigilantes.”
He concluded his post by emphasizing that no individual, regardless of status, should be seen as above the law. “Nobody is bigger than the law. Whatever someone may be, na for him pocket. Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari must be held accountable like any other citizen,” Joe wrote.
The activist’s criticism provoked an immediate and aggressive response from Dokubo’s camp. In a recorded video, Boma Daniels, who identified himself as the official spokesperson for Royal Foushé Security Services—Dokubo’s privately owned security company—defended their operations and denounced Joe’s remarks as mischievous and defamatory.
According to Daniels, “I am the spokesperson of Royal Foushé Security Services, a private security organization duly incorporated with the Federal Government of Nigeria. Our company is owned by His Royal Highness, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, who also serves as our Chief Executive Officer (CEO).”
Daniels accused Israel Joe of attempting to discredit and sabotage the efforts of the organization, which he claimed is committed to providing professional security services.
“This activist, Israel Joe, went as far as comparing our CEO with his brother in Delta State. Rather than commend us for our legitimate work, he is bent on spreading misinformation and causing unnecessary tension.”
He further warned that there are legal mechanisms in place to deal with such critics. “We are using this opportunity to send a message to distractors and enemies of the state. If, after everything we’ve said, you continue with these mischievous acts, we know the right procedures to follow to ensure you are kept where you belong,” Daniels threatened.
“The law provides measures that can place individuals like you in environments befitting your behavior.”
In response, Comrade Israel Joe acknowledged the remarks directed at him. He confirmed receiving the message from the group and announced his intent to issue a formal response.
“I wish to acknowledge the press release directed specifically to me by His Royal Highness Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, conveyed through Boma Daniels, spokesperson of Royal Foushé Security Company Limited,” Joe said. “I remain a voice of the Niger Delta and I will respond to the points raised by the security outfit in a public statement scheduled for 7 p.m. tomorrow.”

Observers are watching the situation closely, as the incident raises serious concerns about the regulation of private security operations, the limits of free speech, and the impartiality of Nigeria’s security architecture in enforcing arms control laws.
