Gov Makinde Appoints New Aides

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has announced the appointment of two new aides as part of his administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen key sectors and enhance service delivery across the state.



In the latest development, Mr. Ademola Aderinto has been appointed as the Senior Special Assistant on Public Works, while Mr. Lamidi Kazeem Ajibola has been named Special Assistant on Environment. Both appointments take immediate effect.



The announcement was made public through a statement issued on July 31, 2025, by Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Special Adviser on Media to the Governor. The formal appointment letters were signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi.



Mr. Aderinto, a seasoned Civil Engineer, is not new to the administration, having previously served as Special Assistant on Environment.

During his tenure in that capacity, he was instrumental in shaping the state’s environmental policy framework and spearheading several sustainability-focused initiatives. His new portfolio is expected to leverage his technical expertise to improve public infrastructure and enhance project delivery.



Similarly, Mr. Lamidi Kazeem Ajibola is expected to bring renewed energy and focus to the state’s environmental sector, especially in addressing emerging challenges tied to urban sanitation and climate resilience.



Governor Makinde charged the newly appointed aides to approach their duties with a high sense of responsibility, unwavering dedication, and loyalty to the state. He emphasized that their performance would be measured by the tangible impact they make on the lives of the people of Oyo State.



The appointments underscore the governor’s commitment to consolidating good governance by placing competent individuals in strategic positions.
