Galatasaray have officially announced the signing of Victor Osimhen on a permanent deal from Napoli, ending a long-running transfer saga between the Nigerian striker and the Serie A side.

The Turkish champions confirmed the move on Thursday, revealing that they will pay a €75 million transfer fee to Napoli.

Osimhen, who impressed during a season-long loan at the club in 2024/25 season, has signed a four-year contract and will earn €15 million per season.

In addition to his salary, Osimhen will receive:

€1 million annual loyalty bonus and €5 million for image rights. There’s also a clause stipulating 10% of any future profit from his next transfer will be paid to Napoli.

Crucially, the contract prevents Osimhen from joining any Serie A club for the next two years, a clear condition aimed at avoiding a potential return to Italy’s top flight in the immediate future.

Osimhen: “Proud to Be Back”

Reacting to the announcement, the 26-year-old said he was excited to return to Galatasaray after a stellar loan campaign.

“I’m feeling truly great right now,” Osimhen told the club’s official website.

“I’m so happy to be a part of the Galatasaray family again. First of all, I want to thank my President and Vice President. We have a very positive team right now.

“You know my quality from last season. I believe that next season, with the quality of both myself and my teammates, we will achieve even greater success with a much greater sense of belonging.

“We will give our all on the pitch—not only in the league and cup, but also in the Champions League, one of our main goals.”

Impressive Loan Spell and a Fractured Napoli Exit

Osimhen was outstanding during his loan spell at Galatasaray last season, scoring 37 goals and providing eight assists in 41 appearances, helping the Istanbul giants to a domestic double (league and cup titles).

Thursday’s announcement marks the end of a tense chapter with Napoli. The Nigerian forward was frozen out of the first team early last season due to ongoing contract disputes and transfer tensions.

His departure had been widely anticipated over the last two seasons, with failed moves to the Premier League and Saudi Arabia drawing headlines. Galatasaray’s persistence finally paid off with what is now the biggest signing in Turkish football history.
