Two students from the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, located in the Aniocha South Local Government Area, have reportedly been abducted by suspected kidnappers. The incident occurred on the evening of Friday, July 25, 2025.

According to sources, the victims, both students of the Science Laboratory Technology department, were travelling to Asaba in a Toyota saloon car when they were ambushed by the assailants.

The incident took place at about 6:45 p.m. along the Ogwashi-Uku–Azagba Road, a route frequently used by commuters between the polytechnic and the Delta State capital.

A reliable source disclosed that the female driver of the vehicle, who is married, was giving her male classmate a ride to Asaba when the kidnappers intercepted them and whisked them away.

The abductors later released the woman on Sunday, July 27, 2025, after reportedly collecting a ransom of about ₦10 million. However, as of the time of reporting, the male student remains in captivity, with his whereabouts still unknown.
