The traditional leadership of Ila-Orangun has thrown its full weight behind Senator Ajagunnla Olubiyi Fadeyi, who represents Osun Central Senatorial District, following his recent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a communiqué issued after their weekly deliberations, the town’s respected traditional chiefs voiced unified support for the senator’s political move and his continued alignment with the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.



The statement, signed by High Chief Alhaji R.A. Adedapo, the Elemona of Ila-Orangun and Secretary to the Ode-Ilu Chiefs, highlighted seven major resolutions, underscoring the community’s commitment to development, unity, and peaceful political engagement.

The communiqué began with an expression of deep respect for Chief (Dr) Adebisi Bamidele Akande, CFR, the Asiwaju of Ila-Orangun. The chiefs described him as a pillar of growth whose legacy of service continues to inspire leaders within and beyond the town.


It reads, “Following our weekly deliberations, we, the Traditional Chiefs of Ila-Orangun, having carefully considered the recent political developments, hereby issue the following resolutions:

1. Acknowledgement of Chief (Dr) Adebisi Bamidele Akande, CFR
“We reaffirm our profound respect and admiration for Chief (Dr) Adebisi Bamidele Akande, CFR, the Asiwaju of Ila-Orangun. His legacy of selfless service and his numerous contributions to the growth and development of our town remain deeply appreciated and cannot be overstated.”


2. Commendation of Senator Ajagunnla Olubiyi Fadeyi
“We duly acknowledge the notable developmental strides and people-centered initiatives executed by Senator Ajagunnla Olubiyi Fadeyi during his ongoing tenure in the National Assembly. His efforts have positively impacted the lives of many in Ila-Orangun and beyond.”




3. Appreciation of Other Political Office Holders
“We equally recognize and appreciate all other political office holders from Ila-Orangun, who continue to represent our collective interests with diligence and commitment.”


4. Support for Senator Fadeyi’s Defection to APC
“We extend our support for Senator Ajagunnla Olubiyi Fadeyi’s strategic decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), especially as it aligns with the advancement of two critical projects of immense benefit to our people: the completion of the FGN Power Sub-Station and the ongoing advocacy for the creation of Igbomina State.”

5. Full Support for Senator Fadeyi and President Tinubu’s Second Term Bid
“We declare our full and unwavering support for Distinguished Senator Ajagunnla Olubiyi Fadeyi, our illustrious son, particularly in his bold commitment to the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. We commend his alignment with the President’s renewed hope agenda and his support for the President’s second term bid, which we believe will further strengthen national development and inclusive governance.”

“We affirm that Ila-Orangun remains a peaceful and united community. We strongly oppose any attempt to destabilize our town for the sake of personal or political ambition. Let us work together to preserve the harmony that defines our heritage.”


The statement marks a significant endorsement of Senator Fadeyi’s political trajectory and signals a consolidation of support from traditional institutions as the 2027 general elections begin to take shape.
