The Rivers State Caucus in the National Assembly has applauded the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, for what they described as his bold leadership style and unwavering commitment to national development.
Their commendation follows the recent conferment of an honorary Doctor of Science degree in Political Science on Wike by the University of Port Harcourt.
In a jointly issued statement, the lawmakers said the recognition is a fitting tribute to Wike’s years of purposeful service and achievements, both as a former Governor of Rivers State and now as FCT Minister.
According to the caucus, Wike’s contributions to public service, particularly in transforming infrastructure and strengthening governance, have left a visible mark on many communities.
They noted that his leadership approach—firm, forward-thinking, and people-focused—has continued to inspire not only the people of Rivers State but Nigerians at large.
“This award stands as a clear reflection of your selfless dedication and outstanding role in the political growth of our nation,” the statement read.
“You have not only envisioned progress—you have actively pursued and delivered it across different sectors, especially in the Federal Capital Territory.”
The legislators also expressed confidence that the award would serve as motivation for Wike to intensify his efforts toward national development. They emphasized that his leadership had set a standard that others in public office could learn from.
They added, “Your work has uplifted lives and transformed communities. As we celebrate this achievement with you, we are hopeful it will open more doors for impactful leadership and lasting contributions to national growth.”
Those who signed the statement include Senator Barry Mpigi, Senator Allwell Onyesoh, Hon. Kingsley Chinda, Hon. Dumnamene Dekor, Hon. Solomon Bob, Hon. Felix Nwaeke, Hon. Kelechi Nwogu, Hon. Cyril Hart, Hon. Victor Obuzor, and Hon. Blessing Amadi.
