Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) has confirmed the appointment of Tobi Adepoju as the club’s Sporting Director, in a move aimed at driving the club into a new era of professionalism and modern football management.

The announcement was made on Saturday, 26th July 2025 with Adepoju, one of the youngest administrators to occupy such a position in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), expected to play a key role in shaping the technical and strategic direction of the Oluyole Warriors.

A native of Ibadan, Adepoju returns home to take up the role at the historic club he grew up supporting. His appointment has been widely welcomed as a step towards revamping 3SC’s football operations and aligning the club with global best practices.

Adepoju joins 3SC after a successful stint at Ikorodu City FC, where he served as Club Director. During his three-year tenure, he gained recognition for championing data-driven scouting, youth development, sponsorship growth, and community engagement.

His work contributed significantly to Ikorodu City’s sudden emergence as a progressive and well-structured football club in the Country.

Reacting to his appointment, Adepoju described the opportunity as a “homecoming” and a call to service.

“This is not just a job — it’s deeply personal. Shooting Stars means a lot to me and to the people of Ibadan. I’m honoured to contribute to the future of this great club,” he said.

In a farewell message posted on social media, Adepoju paid tribute to Ikorodu City and its President, Sanmi Doherty, thanking them for the opportunity and mentorship that helped shape his administrative journey.

“Dear Ikorodu City FC Family, I’m emotional. Saying goodbye isn’t easy, but it’s part of the journey. I’m leaving with a piece in my heart. This isn’t the end — it’s just a new beginning,” he wrote.

In response, Ikorodu City FC released an official statement confirming his departure and appreciating his contribution to the club.

“Tobi Adepoju has been of immense value to the club and also served as Secretary of the Club Owners’ Association. We thank him for his service and wish him well in the future,” the statement read.

Adepoju’s arrival at 3SC is expected to bring a fresh approach to football administration at the club, particularly in areas such as recruitment, player development, analytics, and fan engagement.

As the club prepares for the upcoming 2025/26 NPFL season, fans and stakeholders alike are hopeful that the new Sporting Director’s appointment will help restore 3SC’s glory days and push the club back into both national and international contention.
