Nigerian street-hop sensation, Habeeb Olalomi Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has escalated his feud with social media activist Verydarkman by taking a dramatic step—visiting a traditional shrine to seek spiritual intervention over allegations of theft.

The controversy began after Verydarkman released a diss track and viral footage accusing the “Zazuu Zeh” crooner of being involved in a tricycle theft case, labeling him “Ole” (a Yoruba word for thief). The video quickly went viral, sparking a heated online battle between both parties, with fans and celebrities weighing in.
Before visiting the shrine, Portable had reportedly petitioned the Nigerian Police, accusing Verydarkman of defamation of character and cyberbullying. The artist claimed the allegations were false and had caused significant damage to his reputation and brand image.
However, just days after his police petition, a new video surfaced online showing Portable at a traditional shrine, surrounded by local priests and invoking native justice. In the viral clip, Portable could be heard calling on the gods to punish anyone tarnishing his image, alleging that Verydarkman and his supporters were spreading lies to destroy his career.
“Whoever calls me a thief unjustly, let the gods judge!” Portable reportedly chanted, a move that has stirred intense debate online.
Verydarkman, known for his outspoken activism and social media exposés, had earlier insisted that Portable had questions to answer over his alleged involvement in the 2020 tricycle theft saga. He doubled down on his accusations in a series of posts and diss tracks, taunting the singer for resorting to “juju” instead of clearing his name with evidence.
The social media activist, who has a history of clashing with celebrities, responded to Portable’s shrine visit with mockery, saying, “No juju can clean a guilty conscience.”

The drama has sparked divided opinions across social media. While some fans praised Portable for defending his name by every means necessary, others criticized him for resorting to native powers instead of relying solely on legal measures.
Entertainment analyst Kingsley Owoeye described the incident as “a reflection of the deep mistrust in Nigeria’s legal system,” noting that many celebrities turn to traditional methods to “seek quick justice” when they feel wronged.
Meanwhile, a few celebrities, including controversial singer Speed Darlington, have weighed in, telling Portable to “focus on making hits instead of chasing clout with Verydarkman.”
Legal experts believe Portable’s police petition might still lead to an investigation if he formally sues for defamation. However, Verydarkman, who insists he has evidence to back his claims, has vowed not to retract his statements, threatening to release more videos allegedly implicating the singer.
The saga adds to Portable’s long list of controversies, including past public spats with fellow artists and frequent run-ins with law enforcement.
As the feud deepens, fans are left wondering whether this will end in a legal showdown, a peace settlement, or further spiritual drama.
