Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan have officially announced the appointment of Nurudeen Aweroro as the new Head Coach of the club, ahead of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
Aweroro has penned a one-year contract, with an option to extend based on performance. His arrival marks the beginning of a new era for the Oluyole Warriors, following a shake-up in the club’s technical department.
He replaces Gbenga Ogunbote, who was relieved of his duties alongside his coaching crew on Wednesday as part of a wider management restructuring.

A statement on the club’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle read:
“Nurudeen Aweroro is the new Head Coach of Shooting Stars SC. A CAF Licensed tactician with experience from Remo Stars, MFM FC & Ikorodu City, Coach Aweroro is set to lead the Oluyole Warriors to glory.”
A CAF-licensed coach with a growing reputation, Aweroro impressed during his spell at Ikorodu City FC, where he managed 33 games, achieving a 51% win rate and earning multiple Manager of the Month awards.

He notably guided the Lagos-based club to a 4th-place finish in their debut NPFL campaign in 2024/25 and led them to the semi-finals of the President Federation Cup — a remarkable achievement for a newly promoted side.

With previous coaching experience at Remo Stars and MFM FC, Aweroro brings a blend of tactical discipline and youth development acumen. His proven ability to build competitive squads is expected to strengthen Shooting Stars’ aspirations heading into the new season.
