The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed the appointments of two experienced tacticians — Manu Garba and Moses Aduku — as head coaches of the Golden Eaglets (U-17 Boys) and Falconets (U-20 Girls), respectively.
The appointments, which were ratified by the NFF Executive Committee, follow recommendations from the Federation’s Technical and Development Sub-Committee.
Garba returns to a familiar role with the Golden Eaglets, having previously led the team to global success. He famously guided Nigeria to victory at the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates and also took charge of the squad during the 2019 edition of the tournament in Brazil.

A veteran in youth football development, Garba brings a wealth of experience back to the U-17 national team.
For the Falconets, Moses Aduku takes over from Chris Danjuma as head coach. Aduku is widely regarded as one of the top minds in Nigerian women’s football, having managed Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) giants Bayelsa Queens and Edo Queens with distinction.
He was also part of the coaching crew during the Falconets’ run to the quarter-finals of the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.

Both coaches are expected to officially assume their roles on Sunday, as preparations begin for major assignments in September.
The Falconets will take on Rwanda in the qualifying campaign for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, while the Golden Eaglets will compete in the WAFU B U-17 Tournament — a regional championship Nigeria is set to host.
These appointments are part of the NFF’s broader strategy to revitalize the country’s youth football structure and build upon its storied legacy in age-grade competitions.
