English Premier League side Fulham has implemented a ban on behind-the-scenes (BTS) content from the dressing room being shared on social media, a move that has directly impacted Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi and his popular Snapchat posts.

Iwobi confirmed the new restriction in a video posted on his official Snapchat account where the 28-year-old Super Eagles star, known for his candid and entertaining glimpses into Fulham’s dressing room culture, revealed that the club’s media team had intervened and asked him to stop sharing such content.

“For those that are wondering why I’ve been snapping BTS in the changing room, there’s one person in the media team that’s been saying I haven’t been capturing the right stuff. So there’s no more BTS,” Iwobi explained.

He added that the club had warned of possible fines for any further breaches of the policy.

“They also said I might get fined if I continue to do so. They’re trying to ban snap in our changing room.”

Iwobi expressed his disappointment, acknowledging the enjoyment his followers found in the behind-the-scenes footage, which often included moments of camaraderie, pre-match preparations, and post-game reactions.

“It’s a shame, man. I know you guys enjoy seeing what my teammates are like behind the scenes, but I have to respect the rules,” he concluded.

Since joining Fulham, Iwobi’s Snapchat content has earned him a strong following among fans, offering rare insight into the personal dynamics of Premier League footballers away from the spotlight. His clips often showcased humorous banter, relaxed moments, and team bonding that resonated with supporters.

However, Fulham’s decision reflects a growing trend in professional football, where clubs are becoming increasingly protective of dressing room privacy amid concerns over tactical exposure, internal conversations, and the risk of misinterpretation of sensitive content.

While fans may be disappointed by the development, the move highlights the balance modern footballers must strike between personal branding and professional responsibility in the age of social media.
