Salami gave the assurance on Wednesday morning after watching the team defeat Orire FC of Osogbo 6–2 in a friendly match held at the practice pitch of the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.
Clearly impressed with the team’s performance and attitude, the 3SC chairman expressed satisfaction with the players’ commitment, urging them to sustain the momentum ahead of the new Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign.
“Whatever you need, whatever you think is wrong—just talk to me and I will listen. What affects you affects me. I’m a very approachable person,” Salami told the players.
He also emphasised his commitment to player welfare and open communication, highlighting his personal investment in the club’s progress.
“I was in Lagos to watch some of your matches, but I hadn’t had time to attend your training sessions. Today, I made it a point to be here because I heard you had a friendly. To be honest—very honest—I was quite impressed with what I saw.”
The chairman also reminded the players of the pride and responsibility that comes with wearing the 3SC jersey, citing the club’s rich heritage and passionate fan base.
“One thing I’ve come to realise is that putting on a 3SC jersey is an honour. I was surprised when I arrived and saw people—rather than going straight to work—here watching Shooting Stars’ training. Not even a match, just training. That says a lot.”
Salami concluded by urging the team to continue working hard, stating that their collective efforts are crucial in restoring the club’s lost glory and bringing pride to Ibadan, Oyo State, and Governor Seyi Makinde, as well as to themselves and the fans.
“Let’s keep pushing to return 3SC to where it truly belongs. The people are watching, and they believe in you. Let’s make Ibadan proud again.”
