Nine players from Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Remo Stars have made the final 23-man list of Super Eagles B ahead of the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN), which kicks off next month across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Head coach Eric Chelle, who earlier named a 35-man provisional squad for the training camp at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne, trimmed the list following weeks of intensive preparation.
Remo Stars captain Junior Nduka headlines a strong contingent from the club, alongside teammates Sodiq Ismail, Alex Oyowah, Qudus Akanni, Sikiru Alimi, Michael Tochukwu, Haruna Hadi, Jabbar Malik, and Olamilekan Adedayo.
Also making the final squad is Shooting Stars goalkeeper Mustapha Lawal, who impressed throughout camp. He is joined in the goalkeeping department by Henry Ozoemena Ani (Enyimba FC) and Nurudeen Badmus (Kwara United).
Defensive options include Stephen Manyo and Taiwo Abdulrafiu (both of Rivers United), Leonard Ngenge and Uzondu Harrison (Ikorodu City), and Bankole Afeez (Kwara United) also made the list.
In midfield, Rivers United’s Otaniyi Taofik joins Remo Stars’ quartet of Oyowah, Hadi, Tochukwu, and Akanni, with Olamilekan Adedayo rounding out the central options.
Up front, Anthony Ijoma (Abia Warriors) and Godwin Obaje (Rangers) are among the forwards selected, alongside Sikiru Alimi, who featured for the Super Eagles at the Unity Cup in London, and Temitope Vincent (Plateau United). Rising talent Jabbar Malik and Shola Adelani (Ikorodu City) also made the cut.
Notably, Nigeria U20 captain Daniel Bameyi will link up with the team ahead of the tournament, a source confirmed.

Key Omissions and Departures
Several players missed out due to transfers or injuries. Kayode Bankole and Sunday Megwo departed camp to finalise moves abroad, while Ifeanyi Onyebuchi and others were ruled out by injury or absence. Notable exclusions include Joseph Atule (Enyimba), Ayomide Cole (Ikorodu City), and Aniekeme Okon (Rivers United).
Tournament Outlook
The team will depart Ikenne for Tanzania on Thursday evening, where they will engage in final tune-up friendlies before the tournament begins.

Nigeria, runners-up at CHAN 2018, are drawn in Group D and will play their first two matches — against Senegal and Sudan — at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar, before facing Congo at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
