The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially launched the campaign for the highly anticipated TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024, unveiling the tournament’s official theme and poster under the powerful banner of “PAMOJA”.
The 2024 edition of CHAN — scheduled for 2nd to 30th August 2025 — will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, marking the first time the tournament will be held jointly by three East African nations, and a historic milestone in continental football cooperation.
PAMOJA: A Message of Unity
At the heart of the campaign is the word “PAMOJA”, a Swahili term meaning “unity”. More than just a slogan, PAMOJA encapsulates the spirit of togetherness, harmony, and shared ambition. It reflects the collective strength of African communities and the core values of football — teamwork, collaboration, and solidarity.
“PAMOJA is not only a theme, it is a celebration of African spirit. It speaks to our unity, to our rich cultures, and to the incredible talent that exists within our domestic leagues,” CAF said in a statement on its website.
A Poster That Tells a Story
The official tournament poster, revealed today across CAF’s digital channels and broadcast partners, vividly reflects the vibrancy of African football and the diverse cultural heritage of the host countries.
The design features bold, energetic African motifs, integrating East African landmarks and cultural symbols to bring the PAMOJA theme to life visually — a fusion of sport, identity, and unity.

Celebrating Local Talent
The TotalEnergies CAF CHAN is a unique continental tournament reserved exclusively for players competing in their domestic leagues. It serves as a showcase for homegrown talent, highlighting the depth, diversity, and passion of football across Africa.
“CHAN is about celebrating our local heroes — players who carry the dreams of their communities and whose stories inspire a continent,” CAF added.
Fan Engagement and Grassroots Connection
In the buildup to the tournament, the PAMOJA campaign will extend across multiple platforms, including:
Interactive fan engagement activities Digital storytelling initiatives Grassroots football programs
These elements aim to deepen the connection between the tournament and African communities, empowering fans and players alike while amplifying the tournament’s reach and resonance.
As the countdown to CHAN 2024 begins, the PAMOJA campaign sets the tone for a truly pan-African celebration of unity through football — on and off the pitch.
