
The Oke Ogun Indigenous Youths Solidarity Forum, an umbrella organization dedicated to promoting the development of the Oke Ogun region, in Oyo State, Nigeria recently held its 2025 Annual ‘Get Together’ Programme.
The event, which brought together prominent indigenes and traditional rulers from the area, served as a platform for dignitaries to charge the people of Oke Ogun to remain resolute and committed to the overall development of the region.

According to the speakers, unity and collective commitment to the region’s growth can accelerate transformation and bring about much-needed progress. The forum, which is saddled with the responsibility of uniting eminent indigenes of Oke Ogun area to promote the region’s development, had in attendance several notable figures, including Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, the Former Deputy Governor of Oyo State; Hon Shina Abiola Peller; and Col. Gbenga Adegbola.
Also in attendance were prominent traditional rulers, such as the Oniro of Otu, Oba Sunday Oyetunde Adepoju Ayilola III, and the Aseyin of Iseyin, His Royal Majesty Oba Sefiu Oyebola Adeyeri Ajirotutu, who was ably represented by Chief Isiak Adeoti.

The Iseyin Local Government Chairman, Hon Fadiran, was also represented by his vice, Hon Oladipupo Solomon. The theme of the event, ‘Rebuilding Oke Ogun’s Legacy: Restoring our Historical Heritage, Transforming Education, Politics and Culture for Future Generations,’ was extensively discussed by the speakers, who highlighted factors militating against the growth and development of the region.
They emphasized that disunity and the desperate pursuit of individual ambition would continue to hinder the progress of Oke Ogun area, stressing that the unity of the region is sacrosanct and not negotiable, particularly as the 2027 election draws nearer.
In their separate interviews, Chief Moses Alake, Hon Shina Peller, Oba Sunday Adepoju, Chief Dele Ayanleke, the National President of the Miners Association of Nigeria, Chief Isiak Adeoti, and Vice Chairman of Iseyin Local Council, Hon Oladipupo Solomon, all opined that it is imperative for the people of Oke Ogun to stay focused and united for the overall development of the region.
They admonished Oke Ogun youths to be the vanguard of positive change and rapid transformation. Furthermore, speakers at the event, including Chief Dele Ayanleke, Abdul Qudir Oluwabusayo, Pastor Favour Adewoyin, and Prince Isiak Adeoti, called for the industrialization of Oke Ogun area through partnership arrangements and productive engagement of youths for the progress of the region. They emphasized the need for collective action to drive development and transform the region.
The event also featured the presentation of awards of excellence to eminent personalities across Oke Ogun area, as well as an award of recognition to a prominent radio presenter, Mr. Jenrade Kaseem Abiodun, in recognition of his contribution to the growth and development of the region.

The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including the Head of Channel, Oke Ogun Radio, Princess Adedamola Orioke, and the Commercial Officer, Oke Ogun FM of the region. Mr. Abdul Wasiu Asimiyi.
Overall, the Oke Ogun Indigenous Youths Solidarity Forum’s 2025 Annual ‘Get Together’ Programme served as a clarion call to the people of Oke Ogun area to remain united and committed to the region’s development. The event highlighted the need for collective action and cooperation to drive progress and transform the region, and it is expected that the outcome of the forum will have a positive impact on the region’s future.
