Manchester United have submitted a third offer for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, with the proposed deal potentially worth up to £70 million.
The latest offer from United is understood to be an initial £65 million fee, with an additional £5 million in performance-related add-ons. As of now, Brentford are yet to formally respond to the bid.
However, United remain confident of landing the Cameroon international and are keen to finalise the move before departing for their U.S. pre-season tour next Tuesday.

The 13-day trip will see the team based largely in Chicago, with manager Rúben Amorim eager to integrate Mbeumo into his plans ahead of the new campaign.
Key Transfer Target
Although Manchester United have also been linked with Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson and Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez in recent days, internal sources say the priority has always been to complete the Mbeumo deal in time for pre-season preparations.
The 25-year-old enjoyed a standout 2024/25 season, scoring 18 Premier League goals and registering 7 assists —which earned him Premier League Player of the season nomination, while attracting interest from several top clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur—now managed by his former Brentford boss, Thomas Frank. However, Mbeumo is believed to prefer a move to Old Trafford.

Brentford Under Pressure
Brentford could now face pressure to decide on Mbeumo’s future, especially with fellow striker Yoane Wissa attracting interest from Newcastle United. Losing both attacking threats in the same window would be a significant blow for new manager Keith Andrews he prepares for the new season.
United’s Attacking Concerns
The push for Mbeumo comes as Amorim looks to address United’s chronic attacking inefficiency. Last season, the Red Devils scored just 44 goals in the Premier League—their lowest tally since the 1973–74 campaign when they were relegated. Amorim has frequently spoken about the team’s poor conversion rate and is hoping Mbeumo can provide a clinical edge in the final third.

Summer Reinforcements
Manchester United have already completed the signings of Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha and young Paraguayan defender Diego León this summer. Adding Mbeumo would mark another significant step in the club’s rebuild under Amorim, who took over from Erik ten Hag in May.
With the clock ticking ahead of their U.S. tour, all eyes are now on Brentford’s response to what could be one of United’s biggest moves of the summer window.
