Manchester City have signed a landmark kit deal with Puma worth a reported £1 billion ($1.34 billion) over the next 10 years, making it the largest kit manufacturing agreement in Premier League history.

The new deal will see Puma continue as City’s official kit supplier until 2035, extending the original partnership signed in 2019, which was worth £65 million per year. Under the terms of the new agreement, City are expected to earn around £100 million annually, according to British media reports—a significant increase that surpasses all current deals in English football.

The agreement surpasses the £90 million per year deal signed by Manchester United and Adidas in 2023 and places City alongside European giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, whose kit contracts are also believed to exceed the £100 million-per-year mark.

Leadership Reactions

Speaking on the announcement, Ferran Soriano, Chief Executive of City Football Group, expressed pride in the evolution of the partnership.

“We joined forces with Puma with the ambition to challenge ourselves and go beyond expectations. We’ve achieved that and more over the past six seasons,” Soriano said.

“Puma have seamlessly integrated into our organisation, and we’ve shared many historic moments together while growing our global fanbase.”

Puma CEO Arthur Hoeld also praised the success of the collaboration:

“Our partnership with Manchester City has been a great success both on and off the pitch. The combination of trophies, a world-class stage for our performance products, and commercial growth has been exceptional.”

A Deal Amid a Challenging Season

The record-breaking deal comes on the heels of a rare trophyless season for Pep Guardiola’s side—their first since 2016–17. Manchester City finished third in the Premier League, ending a four-year streak of title wins.

They also suffered a surprise FA Cup final loss to Crystal Palace and were eliminated in the last 16 of the just concluded FIFA Club World Cup by Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

Despite the on-pitch setbacks, City’s commercial power continues to grow, cementing their status as one of the most valuable football clubs in the world.
