AS Roma Women have officially announced the signing of Super Falcons winger Rinsola Babajide, marking a significant addition to their squad ahead of the new season.

The 26-year-old has signed a contract that will keep her at the Serie A Femminile club until June 30, 2027.

The move sees Babajide return to red colours once more, after previously representing Liverpool Women in the English Women’s Super League.

From England to Nigeria, and Now Rome

Born in England, Babajide began her career with Millwall Lionesses and went on to play for Watford, Liverpool, Brighton & Hove Albion, and later Real Betis and UD Granadilla Tenerife in Spain’s Liga F. Her dynamic pace, flair on the flanks, and attacking versatility have made her a standout player wherever she has featured.

Although she represented England Women at youth level between 2015 and 2019, Babajide opted to switch her international allegiance to Nigeria in 2023, making her debut for the Super Falcons in a friendly against Haiti.

Emotional Announcement on Social Media

Shortly after Roma’s announcement, Babajide shared her excitement in an emotional post on her official social media accounts:

“I’m so excited to finally announce that I’ve signed for AS Roma! Back in red and ready for this incredible new chapter.

Grateful to God for guiding me through every step of this journey. My heart is full, especially having my mum beside me along the way.”

She also extended appreciation to her agent, family, and everyone who helped facilitate the move:

“Thank you to everyone that made this move possible… I can’t wait to get started and see you all!”

A Key Addition for Roma’s Ambitions

Babajide becomes one of Roma’s marquee signings as the club looks to bolster its squad ahead of domestic and European campaigns. Her arrival is expected to add pace, width, and direct attacking threat to the Giallorosse’s forward line.

Roma, who finished strongly in the 2024 season, are looking to build on their recent progress and push further in both the Serie A Femminile and UEFA Women’s Champions League.
