The Yobe State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has publicly reaffirmed its unwavering loyalty and commitment to the party’s Acting National Chairman, Alhaji Iliya Damagum, and the National Working Committee (NWC).

This declaration was made in a communiqué issued by the Yobe State PDP Chairman, Senator Umar El-Gash, following an expanded executive committee meeting held on Saturday in Damaturu, the state capital.

Senator El-Gash emphasized that the chapter remains fully aligned with the party’s leadership, vision, and strategic policies, and is resolute in contributing to the collective national agenda of rebuilding and rescuing Nigeria from its present socio-political challenges.

Addressing recent speculations in the political space, Senator El-Gash firmly refuted claims that the Yobe PDP structures had collapsed into the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He dismissed such allegations as baseless and the handiwork of political mischief-makers whose sole aim is to incite confusion, disunity, and instability within the ranks of the PDP in the state.

“The PDP in Yobe remains a cohesive, focused, and principled entity. We are proud of our identity and enduring legacy as a major pillar in Nigeria’s democratic process,” he declared.

Furthermore, he called on all party members across the state—from ward levels to the national hierarchy—to embrace unity, peace, and cooperation. He stressed the importance of collective effort in fortifying the party’s internal cohesion and public image.

The state chairman also issued a stern reminder on the need for discipline among members. He pointed out that discipline is the bedrock of any successful and well-structured political organization, without which chaos and disloyalty could thrive.

According to him, the State Executive Committee, in collaboration with the local government chairmen, resolved to uphold the party’s rules and principles.

The leadership agreed to take decisive measures against any form of indiscipline, anti-party activities, and acts of disloyalty that threaten the unity and integrity of the PDP in Yobe State.

Senator El-Gash reiterated that the Yobe PDP remains steadfast, united, and committed to the larger goal of national democratic development under the leadership of Alhaji Iliya Damagum and the NWC.
