Napoli have rejected a new formal offer of €70 million from Galatasaray for Victor Osimhen, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Romano revealed on Friday that Galatasaray submitted the bid earlier in the day, complete with bank documents to guarantee the payment. However, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis declined the offer, holding firm on his demand for a guaranteed €75 million fee for the Nigerian striker.

“Understand Napoli have now rejected new formal proposal sent by Galatasaray today for Victor Osimhen,” Romano posted.
“Galatasaray offered €70m today with bank documents attached for payment guarantees… Napoli president De Laurentiis wants €75m guaranteed and he has rejected.”
Negotiations Continue Despite Stalemate
This latest rejection is the latest twist in what has become a prolonged transfer saga, as Galatasaray continue to push for the Super Eagles star. The two clubs had appeared to be edging closer to an agreement in recent days, with earlier reports indicating Napoli were open to a structured payment plan that would see Galatasaray pay €75m in instalments.
According to previous reports, the payment structure included five instalments, rather than an upfront fee—something Napoli had initially resisted.
However, despite Galatasaray meeting many of Napoli’s demands—including banking guarantees—Friday’s offer still fell short of the outright guaranteed payment De Laurentiis insists on.
Revised Bid Submitted
Shortly after the rejection, Romano reported that Galatasaray returned with a new and improved proposal, this time matching Napoli’s €75m asking price.
“The Turkish club now offers €75m with €40m immediate payment and €35m in installments, with bank guarantees as key point again. Decision up to Napoli once again” Romano wrote.
Osimhen Prefers Europe Amid Saudi Interest
Osimhen, who played last season on loan at Galatasaray, remains one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers. The Nigeria international had previously turned down a highly lucrative offer from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, reportedly worth more than double Galatasaray’s proposal.

Sources close to the player continue to stress that Osimhen is not open to a move to Saudi Arabia and is fully committed to continuing his career in European football.
While Napoli were believed to be encouraging a move to the Gulf state due to the financial benefits, Osimhen has made his preference clear.
Premier League Interest Fading
Premier League clubs once strongly linked with Osimhen—Arsenal and Manchester United—have seemingly cooled their interest in recent weeks.
Arsenal are now pursuing other targets to reinforce their attack, while Manchester United have shifted focus to Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, citing concerns over Osimhen’s wage demands and injury record.
What’s Next?
Galatasaray’s latest €75m bid could prove pivotal in the coming days. If Napoli accept the structured offer, the move may finally be greenlit, paving the way for Osimhen to make his stay in Istanbul permanent.
For now, though, Napoli are yet to respond formally to Galatasaray’s revised offer, and the final decision remains in the hands of De Laurentiis.
