The Oyo State Government has announced its full alignment with the Federal Government’s directive to conduct a comprehensive audit of staff under the Centrally Deployed Cadres (CDC), as part of ongoing efforts to enhance transparency and efficiency within the public service.
This was made known in a statement released on Saturday, July 12, 2025, by the Oyo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade.
The staff audit exercise, spearheaded by the Ministry of Establishments and Training, is scheduled to commence on Monday, July 14, and run through to Friday, July 25, 2025.
According to the statement, “The exercise is aimed at optimizing workforce management and enhancing operational efficiency across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
The Commissioner for Establishment and Training, Prof. Salihu Adelabu said the proactiveness of the Ministry aligns with the initiative of the Federal Government through the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation on Staff Audit.
Professor Adelabu emphasized that the audit is not only essential for accurate documentation and improved personnel records, but also critical in developing a credible and centralized data bank for all CDC officers across the state’s MDAs.
He stated that the exercise would support the validation and update of officers’ details on the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS), thereby promoting accountability and efficiency in public service administration.
“The proactive steps taken by the Oyo State Ministry of Establishments and Training are in alignment with the Federal Government’s directive to update nominal rolls and validate officers’ information on the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS),” the Commissioner stated.
He called on all MDAs to extend full cooperation to the audit team to ensure a smooth, transparent, and successful exercise.
The audit is expected to serve as a foundational step toward optimizing workforce deployment and streamlining personnel management processes in the state, in line with national objectives.
